Great to see Chorley CC and so many of their players, officials and scorer all getting well deserved recognition in the national media.

One particular mention caught the eye. Special congratulations to seam bowler 'Young' Jimmy Lee and the apparent rediscovery of his lost youth. So much so that 19 year-old Harry Barclay (5 victims and 54 not) must have appeared like an old-timer in comparison.

Clearly Jimmy has wintered very well and the lockdown has done him the world of good - taken years off him! Does this mean we can now pick him for our Academy team?

It is an enormous ask of the volunteers who run our clubs to put all the measures in place to operate in a way that is covid-secure. No less difficult knowing how much beer to order given the length of time our bars have been closed. But all the efforts are worthwhile when the faithful return in their droves to appreciate the cricket and drink the place dry!
